How do I directly modify a Google Chrome Extension File? (.CRX)
I’m not sure in which languages those extensions are, I think the are written in Html, Javascript or JSON. As far as I know they are “compressed” in a .CRX file. It is possible to directly modif

They're just ZIP files, just change the extension to ZIP, then find the manifest.json file, you might need a json editor to make it look nice.

PeaZip works, just right click the CRX then hit extract file. Did not even need to rename it to a zip, surprised how easy it was to open CRX file.
Used mostly gimp for image editing the .PNG images, and a Notepad for the .Json files.

Coz
you can use Android Studio command line tools to generate all the different sized images, but it can be a bit of overkill getting it set up for just a one off
