Depends on the soil structure and its ability to retain moisture. If under the surface it feels moist, that's enough for tomatoes, they don't need it water logged.

Nitrogen gas is pretty easy to find(heat pump istallers,weld shops etc.) weights more than airs and inhaling it once does the trick. Because its heavyer than air it stays in the tunnels.

Nitrogen gas is more effective than zyklonB. In welding its used as root gas and danger is real precautions must be taken or result will be dead workers. We should get tidepot eaters to inhale nitrogen gas.
