All you hear as you endless spin the knob is people yelling at you to vote for a specific person, the same songs on every station, and more and more commercials every year. You sigh as you hit the brake and mentally flip through the CDs that occupy your vehicle. Another sigh as you realize you will just be listening to the same songs over, and over again, just like the FM. The only option it seems that you have is just to follow the same routine day in and day out, eventually there will be new music to overplay, right? Wrong! Our Djs, Pumkin Face in Denver, Colorado, and Uncle Ghoulie in Detroit, Michigan, bring to you the only gonzo style internet radio station around. We have coined the term ‘pop-up podcasting’, where we will go live at any given moment in time. We believe in the power of “we the people”, not just here in America, but around the world. We do this by supporting the locals, the small businesses and the individual people and groups who are truly trying to make a difference in people’s lives.
We achieve this through a variety of shows, both music and talk based. Our music shows consist of local bands from the Denver and Detroit areas, we also find bands from around the world on websites such as bandcamp.com. Our talkies do not scream at you; they do not tell you which way to think. Truth Porn Militia wants you to have the ability to think for yourself. We break down the headlines and issues going on around the world. We talk about real issues and real possibilities for a better future. We are not your top 40’s station, you will not hear the same bull shit repeatedly.
Our listeners have the opportunity to join in on the free chat during live shows, or a skype call in is always welcome. We want to build a community where all ideas and opinions can be exchanged, and knowledge can be shared. Freedom of speech, expression and all the other things promised by the First Amendment, and those that originally followed, were never meant just for those born on American soil. They were written in hopes that all humanity would be able to live with freedom. We not only uphold those ideals, but we promote them at every chance we get.
